So simple and spare, the Prit line from Japan is one of those lines from Japan that I cannot get my hands on but I can be inspired by. Thought the style isn't ground breaking I just love the simplicity and utilitarian nature to all the pieces. I am not dressed yet today and am now excited to get dressed with the Prit summer collection in mind. Their website has some outstanding photos, but once again it's a bummer because it seems you cannot order anything. That being said, this stuff is so simple it's likely I could find similar items when I go thrifting today.
All the items of clothing I am wearing a from the mall...originally. However, I found all of them while thrifting. While I am usually just looking for vintage when I thrift I often find great clothes that are not vintage, but from stores I like. I somehow feel less guilty and boring wearing "mall clothes" if I found them while thrifting, which is pretty silly since they are the same clothes, but at least I got them at a much better price! I also find that when I buy something retail I wear it less because I paid more for it and it is thereby more "valueable" which is also silly.

Today I started thinking again about why I even get dressed. I don't mean, like why I put clothes on, but why I get "dressed". I go to a place each day where it really doesn't matter what I wear and some days no one even really sees me as I just sit in my office and work all day. But it just feels weird to me to NOT get dressed or just throw something on and I realize that I really get dressed for myself. Which is okay with me, it just would be nice sometimes to work some place where other people got "dressed" or at least cared that other people were "dressed".

Too excited. Too too excited. This world is just so blissfully full of wonderful things that one doesn't have to set FOOT in a mall to buy. That's pretty fantastic if you ask me. I needed some things today that I would have to go to the mall or some other "new" store to get (like underpants), and I planned on going to get them during my lunch hour, but when this lunch hour came I found myself, once again,
Good morning to the Tuesday that feels like a Wednesday. This week will be too long if I think everyday is the day that comes after it. July is approaching it's end and I feel as though summer has not yet started. We have yet to have a truly hot spell and I am still doing my running outside. I'd like to think that this just means that all the seasons schedules will be protracted and actually we'll have a summer-fall, but that's doubtful; and well, I don't much mind anyway as yesterday I bought some knee high black rubber boots that I pretty much can't wait to sport with a 1930s floral dress, all Land Girl style!
