i always wanted a baby afro

Like many ultra-straight-haired girls I have always wanted curly hair - enter a long childhood history of perms (yeeaaaah), sponge rollers and hot rollers. Now it's rag curls I like, super easy to roll your hair in them and also to sleep in them. Though it doesn't really look like this in these photos my hair looks a little like a baby afro today and I love it. I keep fluffing it to make it poofier.

And I wasn't kidding about these Madewell booties, they are crazy comfortable, I have never worn a heeled shoe/boots as much as I wear these. Money well spent I'd say.

Pretty curls! Yes, I to had total curl envy growing up, and had a Little Orphan Annie perm when I in 5th or 6th grade. My hair is very thick and was stick-straight--I think they had to use extra perm chemicals on me to get to hold! Now that my hair is graying, it's becoming quite wavy, naturally.

My hair is stick stick straight too, and even using rollers, curling iron, ANYTHING--curls never stay in my hair. But I should try rag curls! They look great on you.

And I ALWAYS wanted an afro too. :)

I've had straight hair too my whole life and did a perm when I was in middle school- awful period! But last year I got a loose curl perm and boy has technology changed it all, for the better! I love your curls, uber cute

i had super straight hair until i was fourteen, and then it suddenly started curling... it now kind of looks like yours in the picture, but a bit longer! i prefer my curls, it's so much easier... wash, towel dry and let them do whatever they want.
