scenes from Hong Kong

My oldest friend (no, he's not old, but I have known him since we were in 1st grade) Eric Bennet is in Hong Kong and instead of spending his time shopping for chinoiserie like I probably would, he is watercolor painting what he sees. He recently sent me his latest paintings and I liked them so much I wanted to share them with you. They look very different than my mind's perception of Hong Kong since there aren't any people in them and I think of that place as very populated. I asked him if I could buy one, but he hasn't said. ;)

They are beautiful! If he does have a site or decides to sell them I'd love to purchase on too. We have quite a large collection of watercolors and these are very well done!

Beautiful- I love the abstraction of cityscapes, and these are especially pretty with the colours and signage!

Wow, he is a master! These make me want to go to HongKong, but somehow I doubt it would be as peace- and colourful...

Gorgeous paintings! I love the vibrant colours.
I'm planning on visiting Hong Kong in a few months and this is perfect inspiration for my upcoming holiday. Thanks for sharing!

What lovely work he does! It's nice having talented, and creative friends- they make the world so much smaller and inviting. I'd love to go to Hong Kong, but may never make it, now I have an ideal to imagine in the mean while.

Well, you're absolutely right Lauren - currently in HK and can attest to the sheer volume of people. It gets a little overwhelming but it certainly is beautiful - your friend's paintings are spot on the mark there - I'd buy one too!
