What does a vintage seller do with a great dress that ruined beyond repair? Well she wears it to work in of course! This dress has such a great shape and little details, I am well-smitten with the shoulders and the buttons up the side. But it's got a host of stains and mends along with a raw hem, that I won't bother to fix given all the other flaws. So it's perfect for working in. I love it paired with the gladiator sandals, I feel very Claire McCardell, we can't forget that women in the 1940s were totally rocking sandals not unlike the gladiator sandals every girl is running around in now.
Not much to this outfit, I'm working!

What a lovely working outfit, don't think many people look this glamorous while working at home! Love the colour and the little buttons up the side, I have a pink '40s frock that's also pretty ruined but I'll wear it with a layer over the top when it's cold and it's not too noticeable.
Oh, it's so very beautiful!!!!
I'm so glad it found someone who would love it despite its flaws. To be honest, your photos show off the glory of its cut and shape, so i don't notice the bad bits at all! The red is so pretty!
