ladylike. and this lady like.

via UK Vogue, September 2010 via Simple Village Girl

Though it's a bit strange for me - a gal who sells vintage and has never stopped wearing it - this autumn there seems to be a very 1950s ladylike trend in the breeze. And well, frankly, I love it, but I also am thinking, it's never really OUT of style. So I guess it's win-win, you can most certainly treat yourself to some very feminine dresses and skirts this season and be quite in fashion and then, when the "trend" has passed you can wear these said dresses and skirts and be quite in fashion. I like this kind of longevity in my trends, you? Not to mention, you can go right ahead and bypass paying out the nose for new designer 1950s-inspired dresses and go right to the source of that inspiration and buy the real vintage deal. Pretty sweet.

agree wholeheartedly. quite often a stranger will ask me "is that skirt so and so"....nope. it's the original before so and so....

i was very happy to see this, since it might mean that i can finally find something decent in regular shops instead of having to scour the internet and vintage shops! call me lazy :)

Not only do I love the hair and the awesome socks, but the COLORS. Keeps the ladylike silhouettes interesting to me, as they counterbalance the potential frou frou aspects of the New Look shape that don't always appeal to me. In short: LOVE!

The dress in the lower left pic is really similar to the one you sold me. Yay! I'm fashion forward! And now I now what modern styling to give it...

I've been loving the mainstream take on vintage (mainstream being Vogue, etc.). I think designers are doing a great job capturing the feminine essence of the era, and like you said, once the trend is over, then vintage gals can still have some great items to wear!

Honestly I love it when something I love becomes trendy, because then I can find things easier, and have them after people deem them "out". A few years ago 40s pumps were so popular, and I kick myself for not buying more!
