We all have them, little rules we make for ourselves, arbitrary ones that might seem silly to other people. One of mine is the rule of "no heels on weekend days". Especially on Sundays (outside of church if you are a church-goer). I admit to claiming girls were just being too too fussy by wearing heels on a Sunday afternoon. But now I eat my words because this past Sunday I just felt like wearing them. Granted I wore a pair that are so comfy that they can hardly count as heels, but still. I hope to go forward in life breaking self-imposed rules, heck, soon you may see me with sweatpants with writing on the butt....just kidding, I promise that will never happen, those are hideous. Your turn, tell me one of your nonsense rules.

I used to have a rule never to mix gold and silver or black and brown... whoops that kind of went out the window pretty fast! Have fun breaking your own rules!

I have a rule about red and grey-I never wear them together, for some reason that colour combination really bothers me, even though I know objectively that it can look nice, there's just something that always stops me wearing it. Your dress is so nice, and those shoes are just lovely, if I had a pair that nice I would wear them every day!!

Me Too shoes seem to be ridonkulously comfy for some reason, in addition to being super-cute! Those are no exception.
oh, i have tons. #1, i'll never wear PJ's in pregnant, unless i'm really ill and on the way to the hospital or pregnant.
I have a whole system when it comes to my closet. I wear my shirts in order...so that they all get equal wear. There are lots of rules that go into it, but I feel like if I explain the whole thing you'll just think I'm insane (which I kind of am)
But a big rule of mine is that I never do matchy-matchy with my colors. I won't wear shoes the same color and my shirt or anything.
P.S. the writing on the butt has been a pet peeve of mine since junior high! It just looks ridiculous! I was on student council in high school and I got the principal to make it against dress code. SCORE!
No wedge flip flops and I just before I leave the house and I feel like my outfit is perfect...I take off one piece of jewelry.
Never leave the house in sweatpants/pajamas. Also, never leave the house looking like you just got up, threw on clothes, and walked out the door. I think it's really important to always care about self-appearance no matter what you're doing,
I have a lot of really stupid rules I make up in my head as "guidelines" for my life, most of which I've been breaking this year.
lol I love those self imposed rules. You have inspired me to also break a few of mine which escape me at the moment.. so it is quite possible I already have..
have a great heel wearing weekend ;)
I never used to wear skirts in the winter. I broke that rule, repeatedly mind you, last winter. It may be off the list permanently now.
i never ever wear a racerback tank with a normal bra. I see alot of these shenanigans recently and it irks me to no end.
this is one rule that will never be broken by me...i'll wear no bra before wearing the wrong bra!
thanks for the chuckles, lauren :)
I think heels are for whenever you want to feel just a little extra glamorous, weekend or no :) I adore your bracelet btw!!
No pink with black! Too many years of ballet put me off it.
i love this outfit so very much! eek. im way diggin black, white and tan together these days. im making every effort to figure out how to wear them in a way that i wont die of heat exhaustion from the sweltering sun!

also, biggest pet peeve ever: when people wear PAJAMAS in public. yuuuuuck. especially when the butt gets all dirty from them sitting, bleeeh. and MOST espeically when they are sponge bob square pants pj bottoms. gross. i cant handle it. literally just shuddered thinking about it. yuck.
Wow, people wear pajamas in public? That sounds scary! Thankfully I've never seen that in Berlin....I've always been reluctant about wearing navy and black together which is an official "rule" even I think. Apparently my husband takes me seriously because a week or so ago when I actually wore navy and black together he said "Hey, you said you're never supposed to do that!"
too many to name and i almost always had to take them back. so far, the only rule i've not broken is no black with brown unless they're the only two colours in an entire ensemble but that means i'd break the nothing-too-matchy-matchy rule if i just stick to black and brown from head to toe.
Wow! I have this dress, too! Also thrifted and I just wore it yesterday with brown/wood accessories, as well.
