a splurge, a steal and a total steal

The search for authentic 1950s cotton twill capris is over. I have two pair in fact, online from a reader's tip! They are the splurge, though they weren't very much. Pants are pretty hard to buy online, I think, but these are absolutely perfect so I feel like I got lucky.

• the splurge $40 • 1950s black twill capri pants - Ballyhoo Vintage
• the steal $26 • white canvas oxfords - Hey Tiger Vintage on Etsy
• the total steal $4 • Anthropologie silk top - thrift store

The neckline of your top is really interesting, I love it!! I have been looking for the perfect pair of capris for ages, yours are so nice!

Lauren, you have me re-thinking the stash of pants I have from our find last summer. I've been ignoring them because pants are such a hard thing to photograph and sell online. I'll have to give them a second look, see if there are any cute capris.

Also, this is the first time I think I've seen your birdy tat--I love it!

Love that silk top, the cut is so cute. Is that your only tattoo? You should post some close ups!

Super cute! You are a brave woman buying pants online, but the gamble certainly paid off.
