It's my obsession

Knits knits knits! Love the knits. My number one obsession right now is 1930s, early 1940s sweater dresses. By some stroke of luck my skin somehow doesn't freakout when I wear wool so I can go from just admiring these dresses to wearing them. My collection is small right now, only 3, but I am on one serious hunt for more of these garments. Perfect in the fall and winter for someone like me who isn't hot on wearing pants or jeans (yoga pants don't count). Aside from being called sweater dresses they don't really have a name so searching for them is a long process. The ones I have all came from the same amazing vintage shop not far from me and every one of them were pulled from the backroom and not even out on the floor...why I do not know, but I am glad for it because the great shop girls pulled them out just for me and I love them for it. I combed the internet and came up with zilch for these little numbers, so if you got a line on one, well, holler at me!

I also included some covers of patterns for these kinds of dresses and well, I can knit, but I can knit scarves, washclothes and well, actually that's about it, so knitting a dress like these is totally out of the question. I DO have a tailor/seamstress and a cobbler, so perhaps I just need a knitstress?

It's way too hot in Hong Kong to wear knits most of the time, but I totally love them. Especially that pink one!

Yes, it feels like knit season! I've just unpacked the needles and yarn, but my creations will certainly be more humble than the lovelies you've posted above. I'm more of a scarf girl...I'm no knitstress ;)

These are beautiful. My skin freaks out when I wear wool so I'm not lucky enough to be able to wear them!

Aw, at first I thought this was a shop update and I gasped! haha

I found one green knit dress with a matching jacket on ebay not too long ago! I love the bow dress on the last pattern cover! I'm just learning to knit and crochet and it breaks me heart I can't whip up a whole bunch of these things. I guess that is what sewing and etsy are for!
