Grocery store dress

I don't see any reason why pretty vintage dresses, or any pretty dresses for that matter, can't be worn for just about any reason. Just last week I was vacuuming the house in a floral print cotton 1950s dress and I have to say it made the housecleaning task that much less tedious. And so today I wore this pretty 1930s dress to get groceries and to pick my brother up from the airport! Why not? I think later on I'll bake bread in it, and after that I'll change the cat litter in it - no dress is sacred!

I agree! I am so hard on my vintage dresses, but I feel like they're meant to be worn. As long as I'm not bleaching the bathroom in it, I am pretty comfortable doing everyday tasks in simple vintage dresses. You look very cute in your little pink dress!

why save things for special occasions? you've got to get you money's worth, and the more you wear something, the more you've saved per wear!

You have a very interesting point! While vintage dresses should not be all "special occasion" ones, I think it depends a lot on the dress and the condition. For me, finding a good '30s dress that actually fits would be "special events wear" worthy. But if you're dress is sturdy and not the only '30s item you own, I don't see why not giving it the wear it deserves ;)
