There I was, in a thrift store I go to every now and then, and they have a vintage room which is usually pretty empty, but sometimes I find one or two decent things in there. Well, this time, THIS time it was packed, even with an EXTRA rack and it was amazing! It looks like an estate had been dropped off, most clothing was from the 1940s to the 1960s, and some really early 70s items. I just kept blinking to make sure it was all real. As I sifted through it I marvelled at the pretty 50s dresses and some outstanding 40s dresses. This dress is one, it's cotton and handmade and has all the right details. I had to put it on immediately, despite the overwhelming musty smell. It has these large fabric covered buttons and it ties in a bow in the back, oh and it's seems to be made for my body. And since it was an estate, well, ALL the clothes were practically made for me. I had to work out my excitement by riding my bike, as you can see.

ooooo, i love your bike! def. summer inspiration for sure! and you are brave to wear a dress while bicycling, what's your secret?
Yegod, I swear some of you lucky ladies live in some kind of vintage fairyland! I'd have been giddy all day as well!
I second un bel oiseau on the bike thing...in Japan I always saw girls riding their bikes with skirts on and they were perfectly adorable and modest, but I was too afraid to try!
I have dreams like that sometimes...my arms overflowing with so much cool stuff I can't even hold onto all of it. SIGH! You got so lucky!
Can't wait to see pics of your finds!
that dress is just DIVINE! you wear it so well :)

i'm with you..won't ride my bike UNLESS i'm wearing a dress. that one's a beauty.
Lots of prettiness here! What an awesome vintage inspired dress. I can't wear a dress while cycling.
