that birthday thing

with mom

much of the 2000-2010 was spent with short hair

Ittttt's my birthday (again, would you believe it?!) so although I think I posted the photos of my mom and I before I figured I would post them again because, well, it IS when I was looking my best. Also because my mom's birthday was 3 days ago so our birthdays always share the spotlight so to speak. And here also is a little vignette of various photos taken somewhere between 2001 and 2005, or something, I don't know, I just wanted to show you that I had short hair, like, for a pretty long time.

You know though, I realize that this is my blog and all that jizzlejazz, but it always feels weird doing a post like this -  that is just SO all about me. I usually feel like I have to mitigate it by saying a few self-effacing things. But hey, I should grow up and just get over that - actually today I have officially "grown up" so I'll just start right now!

Happy Birthday! You look great with short hair! I used to have a similar cut, though it was in the 90s. Actually, I've had my hair every length from very very short pixie to very very long, straight, curly, and dyed different colors too. Why not? Life is short. :)

You and your mama are bangs twins!

I really try not to be too self-effacing in my posts. It's like, you know yourself better than any other subject. You have this forum on which you share things about your life. And it's boring if it's just shop promotion and vintage jargon all the time! As long as a blogger doesn't constantly veer into outright bragging and blatant self-obsession, and there is some sense of the universal and maybe even some helpful life hints, I'm fine with all the Me Me Me in the blogosphere :-)

Especially when old times are recalled and loved ones are revered. Very sweet post Lauren. Happy Birthday!
