rum raisined

As much as I prattle on about loving 1920s dress or even 30s-40s dresses for that matter, it has occurred to me that I usually (I mean, the days I leave the house) wear 1970s clothing with a nod to the 1930s. This dress is a pretty great example of this such thing. A 1970s rum raisin pointelle knit dress that most certainly takes cues from the knits of the 1930s. There is so much diversity in 1970s fashion I always feel I have to make a distinction as to which 1970s clothing I am "in to" when talking about it. There is a lot about 1970s clothing that is best left in the past and other aspects that are actually quite timeless.

1970s knit dress ◊ vintage shop
1970s hooded trench ◊ thrifted (& I've had it since 1998!)
clog heels ◊ Swedish Hasbeens
vintage gold dipped samara necklace ◊ thrifted
1920s glass ring ◊ gift from Duff of Jean Jean Vintage

I love your ring too! And aren't long dresses just the best for chilly fall weather?! I've been wearing them quite a bit too!

Great dress. I remember owning a few 30's inspired dresses back in the 70's. They were my favorites.

You always look polished. Where do you get your fabulous colored tights? I can never find good colors.

Lauren, you look stunning and casual! I am a sucker for this not-quite-brown, not-quite-red color that you call rum raisin. Can't resist it.

Your tights and dress match perfectly! You look so nice in that color. I'm excited to see your winter outfits here on the blog this season!
