a brick and mortar brick and mortar

Here it is - the future home of Dear Golden! I get the keys today in fact. Although I have been casually looking for a new studio/shop space for Dear Golden for over a year it feels like it is happening quickly. The building is 9 blocks from my house (on the same street as my house!) and I have admired it for a long while. On Saturday I went to my cobbler (which is across the street) and saw it was for rent. Sunday morning I walked down and had a look inside. It has hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, a perfect little back room for shipping and even a dressing room. So I wasted no time and made it mine! Needless to say I am totally excited. In the weeks to come when I have it all set up, I will give you all a peek inside. It will be mostly a studio/workspace for the shop with the retail aspect being secondary and most likely by appointment only, which shouldn't be too much trouble since I live only blocks away! So soon, very soon, when you are in Michigan you can stop by and visit Dear Golden.

SO this is extremely exciting. You should have a grand opening party. With art. And a small gallery inside. And I'll curate the shows. My studio could be storage for all of the art since it's across the street. Just my brilliant plan for today;)

Building.
Is.
Amazing.

I am so thrilled for you! I can't wait to get peeks inside.
I know you have pored your heart and soul into the creation of Dear Golden. Savor every delicious moment.

I am also loving the little door to the side of the main doors.
It is all so storybook. Like a a turn-of-the-century couturier.
It's just all so perfect!

Maybe you'll find some antique treasures stashed about as you renovate and move in...old news paper clippings and such!
