1940s stripes

I know, I know, the belt and the shoes do not match. But the belt is too perfect for the dress and she shoes are so comfy and cute I decided I didn't care to make them match. This dress is made of the softest cotton, it's nearly like jammies. It brings to mind something Claire McCardell would have designed in 1949. I think I have said something like that before....probably because Claire McCardell's garments were so fashion forward. Of course it isn't like the silhouette isn't complete classic, there's just something about it that makes it seem quite modern.

I absolutely love every single piece of this! I'm normally weird about matching my belt and shoes as well - I don't know why, it's like some unspoken rule for myself. That being said, I think these shoes and this belt look great together. :)
