a vintage smidge

It's a rarity when all of the pieces that I am wearing are brand spankin' new. There's pretty much always vintage or thrifted items in the mix. But here I am in all new clothes, only the necklace is vintage/thifted. And I have a confession to make - although one of my most favorite things in the world to do it thrift and/or vintage shop it's IS my job so when I am feeling cranky or in a particularly bad mood I sometimes shop - for new clothes. There's something comfortingly mindless about it. And it's how I ended up with this top and these pants. Good thing I am rarely in a cranky mood, lest my pocketbook would be a lot lighter...

rust silk tunic ◊ Banana Republic
stone pleated crop pants ◊ Club Monaco (a store I just discovered, and love!)
brown leather platforms ◊ Jeffrey Campbell
vintage enamel necklace ◊ thrfited

I really like your shoes....that is my thing when "cranky", buying new shoes. Unfortunately for my wallet it seems I'm cranky all the time.

The color of that top is so pretty, and it looks fantastic on you. And those shoes! <3

(Though it is sort of strange to see you in modern clothes!)

I love the red top with the lighter pants. And you're making me want to bust out some platforms for spring!

Hey Lauren! I thankfully just discovered Club Monaco too while down in Miami and it actually made me think of you/your style! Happy New Year and hope all is well!

lady, you are so beautiful. all of these pieces have a vintage vibe to them - if you told me you had thrifted all of them, i would have believed you.

You will find no judgement here for buying new clothes, I have an illness, I buy just as much new as I do vintage! The red blouse is beautiful on you.
