very faves

There's favorites and then there's very favorites, at least for me. And with all the dresses that pass through my hands the faves and very faves are always changing. But this little 1930s number stays steadfastly in the 'very faves'. If you ask me it's sort of perfect - 1930s light rayon-crepe with wide neckline and billow-split sleeves with a cuff! fitted and bias cut with beautiful flare at the hem. And the label? I could squeal, it says 1934 right ON it! For all of you that are reading this, please bury me in this fine fine frock.

Gasp, that dress is a total treasure! Hard to belive it's more than 75 years old. You couldn't put a price on that kind of loveliness. Do you ever wonder who it belonged to and where it was worn?? I love that about vintage clothes.

How wonderful! A dress that looks so very modern, and yet has such a rich history... Do you ever wish you could "read" a dress? Learn who wore the dress, what the wearer experienced while in a dress/blouse/ etc?

You look amazing in it, love that almost boatneck with the slashysleeves, such a great cut and unusual print. Even the red buttons are perfect, the work in that is beautiful.
