summer's end

It was a year ago September 2nd that Dear Golden became my full-time job. And so not only does summer come to a close, but also a year of very hard work, much surprises, a lot of fun and some uncertainty. Now that I have gotten through it I feel like I can see Dear Golden as something I can keep doing for far into the future and not worry that I might have too much vintage or that I can't spend my earned money investing in my business (nevermind that I was up for about an hour last night just filled with worry as to the longevity of Dear Golden in general!). I rather like that the "new year" for me and my shop begins in the autumn. Though it is not a season of renewal it always feels so because of the beginning of the academic year and a sort of re-commitment to the structure of daily life that summer takes us from.

Congratulations on your one year anniversary! I discovered you recently and adore the things I've purchased.

I'm also changing my career path and trying to figure out how to do what I love and make it my job. I would love to hear more about this(perhaps in a post).

Congratulations on your one year anniversary! Be proud of your very successful year! You are an inspiration to many of us who are just beginning in the field of vintage sales. You are a bit of an enigma in that we really never see you (for me that is) until now. You are definitely the future of vintage! Cheers,
Sandra of the Witchery Vintage
