feel the failure and do it anyway

This outfit was better than it looks, for real. I thought I looked pretty cute, then I saw the photos and well, felt frumpy and just fussy.  I wanted to change my clothes. But then I put my hair in a little bun and told myself that I would just suffer the day in this outfit that I had chosen. But it seems the world had other plans for me, thankfully. The first place I stopped at was a little thrift store that I usually find a total of 1 to 5 things at only. On this trip I found a really nice simple black jersey dress with flattering wrap bodice and wide cummerbund like waist. And um, I tried it on and it felt like jammies. The outfit in this post was history and I wore that black dress out of the dressing room and right out of the store, much to the entertainment of the old ladies who volunteer at the shop. While I don't have photos of that great black dress, I will leave you with these photos of my failed outfit. Oh but what is cool about this dress is it just snaps up and around the waist so taking it off is sort of fun, I felt like a lady super hero just "ripping" off her dress.

For some reason the pictures will not load all the way so I can't see your feet (my internet seems a little slow today), but from what I can see of that dress I really like it! But yes, I have had those days where I was NOT happy in what I left the house in (usually due to Andy sending me deathrays for being so slow to get ready)...but have never had such a serendipitous thrift store find, like yours.

It's funny because this dress you weren't happy in has a cute little cummerbund-y type thing happening at its waist, too!

Well, I don't know what you are talking about there, you look beautiful....but I understand how you feel, no matter what others think what we think as what sticks with us. I am happy you found something you felt more comfortable in. ;)

Oh my! I dont think you looked frumpy in that dress at all! The dress looks so comfortable. It's weird, because we always have a different perception of what we look like. Maybe this dress will grow on you?

I think that outfit is adorable! Though I definitely understand the attraction of the black jersey dress you describe, ha!
