And so, with a huge (and ever growing) collection of vintage dresses and not nearly the days in the year to wear them I opt to wear a pretty plain outfit to dinner last night. Granted, it is all thrifted, but still, I always feel guilty when I go out and don't wear one of the vintage garments that I have (re: hoard). I kind of feel like I am dishonoring the vintage dresses. I have yet to figure out how to not feel guilty about this, but I can say that I have been pretty much living in white shorts lately and loving it.
Gap striped cotton top - thrifted
Banana Republic white shorts - thrifted
pale gray boater shoes - thrifted
straw hat - thrifted
necklaces - thrifted

I love your necklace, you always have the most beautiful jewelry. Your style is so simply chic, sort of Audrey Hepburn!

I wore jeans out the other night and was bummed rather than guilty because I really wanted to wear a dress or skirt. But I had no choice--my legs were covered in mosquito bite welts!
I love the striped top and fab necklace!
i think this outfit is wonderful. nautical and totally summer ready!!
ps~ having a missoni give-a-way on my site, check it out! http://bit.ly/9CPLy0
If you have enough sunshine right now to wear white shorts--or any shorts--go for it! Like that top and hat.
I always feel like I'm breaking some sort of ethical code when I don't wear at least one vintage piece. I think being clad in all thrifted wares suffices, though.
cute take on the nautical trend. you look adorable.
You look quite nautical here! And i LOVE that everything is thrifted... go you!
Do not feel guilty, you are a fine arts curator and you can only have so many pieces hanging in the gallery at one time!
