farmer's market tuesday

Tuesday is the farmers' market and it's conveniently right next to the post office, so I always mail international packages on Tuesday so that I can stop at the market and pick up as many flowers as they have. It's a very small market and I pretty much buy all the flowers this one vendor has, whatever they have. Today it was these gorgeous nasturtiums and many bunches of wildflowers. I do miss the peonies though, they tell me the season for them is over, which is quite sad.  I also bought some artisan goat cheese and a wee baguette which served as energy to keep me organizing the shop. I bought some new shelving and have been trying to not be engulfed in a disorganized mess of vintage once more. And the flower people gave me the garlic scapes and told me just to sautee them in butter and then serve them up, which I will do!

I love having fresh cut flowers in the house. And you always find the most exquisite vintage shoes! (Just look at those rhinestone bows at the top-right!)

If the nasturtiums are organically grown you can eat them, just pull the stem off and throw them in a salad. I love any plant that serves a double function, we grow it every year.

I want to be right back at the kitchen table, drinking coffee and now smelling strawberries.
