shifts

Lately I have been reading the late 1960s Mademoiselle magazines below and have been very inspired by the super simple clothing. Usually I gravitate toward the 1930s-1950s so it feels extra fun when I make a vintage shift and wear something late 1960s. What's even cooler is that flipping through them I see advertisements for clothing brands I have been seeing for years on vintage clothing. This dress is one of my favorites, John Meyer of Norwich and I thought it was an obscure brand, but really it isn't, er, wasn't since I see ads for John Meyer of Norwich in these magazines. I even have a pair of shoes that there is an exact ad for (post on this later).

And here I have to come clean and show you what my guest room/closet room current looks like. Bedlam. I have been procrastinating switching out my closet from winter to summer and that fact is I have way to many clothes and this task has become nearly insurmountable. I know I should get rid of so many things, but it's almost all vintage and I just cannot part with this stuff. Which is weird because having it seems to be stressing me out just as much...

I want to play dress up in that room! Lovely clothes all scattered about & your throw on the bed is divine!

lauren, your bedlam looks like my organized! i think we all understand that overwhelmed wardrobe feeling. we live in a culture where it's not ok or normal to have 7 outfits. we need 700. it still looks so lovely and somehow put together.

also, your hair looks so cute straight in those first photos!

xo!!!

I have to agree with the others who say your bedlam is not bad! You have a very inviting guest room. The shift looks great on you (and I love the contrast of mod 60s shift with little blue cameo pin!).
