Yes you read that right, the woman's measurements were 38-18-36. Aren't those Barbie's measurements? How did this woman not topple over? It's both disturbing and awesome if you ask me. She is real! A model who graced over 300 magazines, books & albums covers. But despite the hourglass figure of all hourglass figures, she turned down posing for Playboy because she was dead-set on only doing chaste cheesecake photos. Her face is what get's me, she's so gorgeous, like a perfect cupcake or something. She & her husband started Shape magazine & the woman is still alive and kicking, she even has a website!

Oh la la! If you ask me, there has to be a LITTLE corsetry at work here!! Nevertheless, beautiful!
18" waist?!?! HOWWW!!! I mean, really, how did she get the other two measurements in addition to the 18" waist is beyond me.
oh my god. speechless.
What an amazing figure, she's beautiful!

She is beautiful. At first, I was confused(in a good way) looking at her figure. It's not one you see often... but it's striking, and envy- worthy
hugs (^.^) hope to hear from you *

Wow that is insane! She really does look very stunning, just like a Bill Ward girl! I love that she started Shape magazine, I always remember my mum buying those.
She is a beautiful woman naturally. It's sad that she felt the need to alter her body by wearing an extremely uncomfortable corset, just to please society.
To me, that is not beautiful.
Wowzers! She really did keep it classy too. Nice boo-tey.
Corsetry or no (because corset usage is an assumption), many choose to alter their appearance with body modifications such as
tattoos, piercings, hair color, acrylic nails, etc... it's all fine with me if it's fine with them.
Beauty has many expressions and sizes. Thank goodness!
And I really love her "set" wavy long hairstyle!
Actually, it is well known that she wore a corset.
Most of those 'studio measurements' were taken over corsets! And thank goodness for that, otherwise I'd just give up forever! I love her 'reading is sexy' look there :D
haha her butt looks so funny on the second picture. damn it doesn't even look nice when she has such a small waist to so big breast. Audrey Hepburn were 34(32?)", 20" 35" and that just looks better (I think so anyway) no matter what only Dolly P. looks good in those measurements. I wonder if there are anyone in our modern world who looks like that?
She looks AMAZING. I love vintage models so much more than modern-day models. They're so ... REAL.

She is amazing .A real live Barbi .Doll.Betty Brosman has the best figure ever.
I have never really seen her with a corsette and she hasnt been the only one who had such small measurements. Others like Brigitte Bardot also had an amazing 20 inch waist.
I honestly think many women just had small to super small waist due to the fashion of its time which was to wear belts belts belts all the times and even the cloth, pants, jeans, skirts, everything was at the high of the waist, probably their bodies just got used to all that and hold a slightly small waist always with a relaxed hip. Now at days everything is under the hip, prolly reason why the waist is less in stress all the time and more relax hence not keeping a figure. Just an idea.
Wonderful nonetheless.
36-18-33 were Barbie's measurements and she's 5'9'' and weighs 110 pounds. She once came with an outfit called "Barbie Baby-Sits" which included three books: How To Get a Raise, How To Travel and How To Lose Weight. On the back of How To Lose Weight was a message that simply stated "Don't Eat".
Not healthy. Not beautiful.
This woman however, is beautiful and Monroe redefined!
