The tree is up, the garlands are draped and the lights are lit, but there's no hiding the fact that the house belongs to vintage. We are having a cocktail party this weekend and although I'd love to magically make all the clothing disappear and have a "normal" house for one night, it just doesn't seem like that's going to happen. When clothing racks of vintage dresses live in your dining room you're pretty much stuck. So, here's to hoping drunk folks don't amble into a rack and spill old fashioneds onto my "old fashions".

Haha! I know EXACTLY how you feel! On the plus side, I have sold a few things at my parties because people like to look through the racks. :)
When we did a holiday house tour this past weekend we ended up closing off the 3rd floor as it had been overrun with the vintage. It would've been nice to have put it away, but where?
I'm worried that when my kids get older they'll remember growing up in a walk-in closet not home.
Do you every just give those garments a giant hug and laugh uncontrollably at all the vintage goodness? Well, okay, no? That's what I was thinking while glimpsing all the goodies.
what are you wearing to the party? your choices must be endless!
I have the same little owl ornaments, and your tree looks beautiful. <3
i, too, have racks of vintage living in my living room. i am sure my roommate wishes they would just disappear every day though. hope your party is fun and no vintage gets ruined in the process! :)
I think the racks of clothing look beautiful, these pictures are just lovely.

Everytime I see glimpses of your home Lauren it makes me smile. Your decor always looks so effortless and lovely. I'm loving the tree. I wish I could have a real tree, but I dont think they like the heat here as much... I hope your party goes terrifically well!
Lovely pictures! I'm having a party next weekend with the same fear... except instead of lots of pretty dresses, I have lots of glassware strewn about. Hope your party is hit and brings in a some sales, too!
Lauren, cover those dresses! Every time I'm around anything cream or white or ivory or anything light really, I'm fearful of spilling something on it. p.s. I love the snow effect you've got going on here!
so wonderful! those christmas decorations are great. the clothes are beautiful!
that fabric garland is amazing. I'm so inspired!
