1940s knits

I'm pretty wild for 1930s/1940s knitwear and cannot be happier that the weather has turned cool enough to wear them. Last night I unearthed my bin of vintage 30s/40s knits from the basement and felt all kinds of glee coursing through my blood; nevermind that my closet is completely packed and I have no idea where I am going to put all the clothes. Also, when the weather gets cooler I always feel like sleeping on rollers and looking all 1940s, I am not sure why. Summer just makes me feel too hot and lazy to do it I suppose.  This particular sweater arrived in the mail this summer and made me long for autumn something fierce, I am so happy to get to wear it!

oh, beauuuuutiful! I ADORE the cameo accent, too. I've said it before, but this late 30s/early 40s era just suits you so perfectly!!

Very Katharine Hepburn, Miss Thang. Such a lovely lovely inspiration.

Did you see the adorable 50's newsreel on "sweater girls?" This (albeit a decade early) reminded me:
