say hello to my little fwens
meet the gang: Gladys, Wilhemina, Ella & Wendel
Wilhemina is especially proud of her bushy tail. And Ella (who is an homage to my kitty Ella)
has caught a fly with her bare paw!
Thing is, I am not into toys. I am not into things even remotely childlike. I am into old things, old people and oldness. But I have this weird and abiding affection for the stoic little felted wool creations of Regina at Every Eskimo. I have amassed this little collection and can't promise it won't grow...she can make just about any little creature and loves special request. All these here are special requests with the exception of Gladys the Bunny.

lmao
Last Friday morning I discovered Bluntcards and literally laughed myself silly, some of them brought me to tears. So funny. I thought I'd share and then you can share and then everyone can spend the morning laughing. There's tons more here.

I love these simple and minimal illustrations from 'Dressmaking Made Easy'
by Laura I. Baldt, published by the McCall company in 1928.

I don't like celebrities or celebrity culture/magazines, for some reason I don't even see celebrities as real humans...I can't/won't explain that. I do, however like dead celebrities, which makes sense, I like old clothes and old dead people. But a major exception to this is my pretty massive crush on Kate Winslet. Not only is she one helluva beautiful creature, I think I'd like to hanging out with her (conjecture, I know), if I could manage to not feel like a serious troll while being seen with her. I feel like she has a quality that old Hollywood movie stars had/have, even in this very modern photographs.

Saying Thanks
I can't even begin to list all that I am thankful for this Thanksgiving, this has been one heck of a year. My life has changed in so many ways, all of them for the better and I am most grateful for it! But I also want to say thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my blog or visit my shop. I awake every single day excited about what I do, and the people I have "met" over the internet machine are so unexpectedly warm, I feel like I have gained a real richness although I have never met anyone face to face. Thank you thank you thank you for your comments, criticisms, input and camaraderie!

Funny clothing tags

Clothing tags needn't be boring. I found these here, I think they are for men's clothing, but nonetheless, the XL one made me almost laugh outloud.

Why.....hello!

...perhaps you can name her? I am taking suggestions!
What's not to love?
Who doesn't love Charley Harper? As if his vibrant prints weren't enough to chew on, there are needlepoint patterns you can work on as well. I for one hope to settle in this winter with some of his patterns and make some. At Purl and Bee you can find a collection of Charley Harper needlepoint patterns and dare I say this whole prospect makes me nearly excited for winter and cozy evenings.

Setting the bar

Three Texan girls, Lauren, Lola and Anna have done what I always want someone to do. All three of them (all friends) found something to love in the Dear Golden shop and bought it. When they all received their packages they planned a gathering whereupon they would wear their Dear Golden item and shoot photos. I could just kiss them for doing it (and so well!), Anna is a photographer and the result of the photoshoot is just more than a girl running a shop could ask for. They all look so lovely and the only wish I have is that I were able to have been at their little party! Thank you Anna, Lauren and Lola!!All three of these lovely women have their own blogs too, so you can get to know them here:

A study in humility

Earlier in the summer as I was getting ready to go out, hair in rollers, lipstick applied, I thought I would see how many ridiculous and unflattering faces I could make in 30 seconds. I have always loved making pretty hideous faces...this is the result. I never intended to post it since it is well, so unflattering, but you know, I think the internet has made many people guilty of purporting to be something they are not, or perhaps just allowing for these these controlled presented concepts of self. It is important to me to remain humble and ridiculous even, so I thought I'd go ahead and post this character study collection because after all, these are possibly some of the least flattering photos of myself!
