My brother's girlfriend is a librarian in Washington, D.C. and for Christmas she gave me the coolest 1950s books on fabrics, dressing, clothing construction and design. Some are very technical and will do well to further my knowledge of vintage clothing. I love the ones on textiles and fabrics the most because there seems to be a real dearth of such books out there, particularly ones that go into detail about so many of the fabrics from which vintage pieces are made. I'm looking forward to pouring over them and using them as reference books.

What great looking books! I love getting my hands on books like that! Happy reading! :)
I recently found one from the early 70s and it's so fun to skim through! don't they make you want to sew up some of your own favorite styles? wish I could!
that's pretty much what takes up my library. i can't get enough, but when your in this industry or in fashion design you can never stop learning...i think most will say in most any industry..
Your cat is sooo cute!
Oh my goodness what an amazing gift!
I am very jealous :)

Oh, and your kitty is the cutest thing ever. :)
Hi! I hope you'd share what you'll learn from those books. It's very difficult to find similar books here in the Philippines.
Happy New Year!
SO WEIRD! I just bought the Dress book at a thrift store this week (my spine is a bright green though)!!! On the inside cover there is a list of every girl who owned it, so fun to read through!
