Normally, I don't give a fig about what models & other celebrities do or where they live, but the other day I was sailing around Pinterest seeing interior after interior of the same colors & style - vaguely minimal, but earthy, warm, white, wood, throw in maybe a color... hey, the irony is not lost on me that this pretty much describes my own house. And then I thought - whatever happened to lushly decorated interiors? They are sort of out of style? Where is the maximalism? My answer came today in the form of photos of model's
Agyness Deyn's loft. While I am certain this place would end up driving me mad, it is refreshing to peek into, so much to look at it! I want to have lunch there and then come back to my own tamer digs.

imagine if you put your eyeglasses down in the living room before you went to bed and then had to find them in the morning. I freaking love her place.
it's probably because i have an unreasonable animosity when it comes to agyness deyn, but i just can't imagine anyone living here-it's like a showroom! the pieces are all really awesome, ok, but does it look inviting and cozy and lived-in??? just my two cents :) you are right though, i feel like the same ideas get tossed around a lot on pinterest, and they are largely about natural woods, metallics, and neutral colors-kind of cold organic feeling.
I... I... wow. I think I just said wow outloud three times in a row, followed by, 'it's my dream home', and then forwarded this post to my coworkers.
You are absolutely right that this style of decorating is fast disappearing, I certainly don't see it in my job often, and I love it.
Holy moly! I would normally call myself a 'maximalist' but this is insane!
I kinda love this!! But it may be because I have small children and know that this type of place is not in the cards for me for quite a while. It's gorgeous, though.
WOW. I am a definite minimalist but the largeness of the space makes this work..however I can't help thinking that I would NEVER be able to see where I put my keys among all that pattern!
YES to maximalism. I would go crazy with those walls, but the furniture is pretty bomb.

THE PARADERS
This place is a bit much (the third picture down is particularly insane), but it seems that every time I look at Pinterest I'm flooded with minimalist, all-white images too. I love ornate, lush interiors.
I mean fourth picture down. Although come to think of it all that seating would make for a very good party.
I love that flower petal chair!
I think it would be great to live in a loft. Things could be pushed around to create places to dance or you could out large swaths of fabric - I never enough free floor space!
I also love the turquoise color of her bedroom ceiling.
I tend to like eclectic rooms but am also drawn to modern sleekness. I think this would be a fun weekend place! And, big enough for all your friends and family to join you!
I love it. I'd be down with it IF I had someone else to clean it.
Whoa! There are great individual pieces, but I wouldn't be able to stand it-wayyyy to much.
