I spent some time this past Sunday, along with my mother, repairing and restoring some utterly breathtaking 1920s silk dresses. One of my favorite things to do is restore delicate 1920s dresses, the only problem is once they are finished I have a pretty hard time selling them. I expect I'll keep one of these...just not sure which one yet...
I just gasped; the dresses are so lovely. I wish my life looked like this. ;)

ReplyDeleteToo pretty for their own good! I just recently found a gorgeous 20s coral silk & lace dress, and I'm TERRIFIED to even have it cleaned. Am I being paranoid? It's so delicate, makes me completely nervous!

ReplyDeleteholy CRAP i'd keep them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so pretty. but what a cool thing, to restore dresses. that's just something people in these times don't get. you restore the old, don't trash them. there's something to be gained from keeping the old things alive. you definitely need to keep at least one :)
