I live in a big town, but make a point to talk to almost everyone I run across (my kids laugh because I always talk to everyone, even people at the grocery store, yes, complete strangers, like, which chips are your favorite? or have you tried this tea before?). I know everyone at the post office by name and which days they work and whether they're married, have kids, and where they are vacationing. I always talk to the people who work at Starbucks, Pink Berry, Trader Joes, etc. You can make even a big town feel like a small one, by just extending yourself a little and offering up a smile.

I am sure your town is a much better place just because YOU live there, Lauren!kerrihttp://www.tenthings.etsy.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069696493360863795.post-8734689263853850362009-08-04T22:37:39.702-04:002009-08-04T22:37:39.702-04:00You need plenty of room in your suitcase, so I thi...You need plenty of room in your suitcase, so I think it best that you leave the romper at home next week.

Much love,
Your Dear Friend Who Hates ItGOATSBEARD!noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069696493360863795.post-60008876971560637552009-08-04T21:47:44.612-04:002009-08-04T21:47:44.612-04:00HA! There's something so special about it, and all of its colors.

And your town sounds marvelous. BUT those items make it cute- PLUS you could wear a potato sack and put a belt on it and look adorable, so it goes without saying.
I love the community aspect to this small town too. The other day I walked into the same coffee shop and said, "Peter, I don't know what I want" and he knows me so well, so he said "You want an iced soy chai latte" and dammit, he was right!Sackyhttp://blog.amysacksteder.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069696493360863795.post-54286336167553219242009-08-04T11:33:07.699-04:002009-08-04T11:33:07.699-04:00this is exactly how i feel in downtown plymouth. w...this is exactly how i feel in downtown plymouth. when i tell people i live here, the kind of look at me like "i can't believe you live in that snotty/rich/whatever town". but really, most of the people here are average, moneywise. and, with such a thriving downtown, i can go in almost any shop here and know someone working there. i don't know my post office people, but i know the bakery owners well enough to be able to knock on their door at 7am, two hours before they're open, and get a loaf of bread.

roots are really what it's all about.Brittany | the Home Groundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12102284763530010289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069696493360863795.post-632133339659859342009-08-04T11:31:55.246-04:002009-08-04T11:31:55.246-04:00Ha ha, I like the romper!!
