When I was in middle school, Benetton clothing was all the rage. My friend's sister, who was already in high school wore the brand like she was a teenage spokesperson and I thought she was pretty much the coolest chick in the whole world. So that was in the late 1980s and on into the early 1990s, but lo and behold, just LOOK at how current the line is now! This ad insert is from a 1990 Mademoiselle magazine, but I mean, some of these outfits looks like are straight out of some catalog today. This makes me feel both excited and ancient. But whatever, I never stopped loving the stuff. Back then I couldn't afford any Benetton clothing, but you can bet I'm on a mad hunt for it now and won't be ashamed at all to be running around in the same clothes I loved in 8th grade.
Oh and also, isn't that Kimora Lee Simmons I spy in this colorful mix of models?
