modern elaine benes

You know, Elaine, from Seinfeld. Everytime I wear some 1990s floral rayon dress I feel like one of three women - Elaine Benes, Natallie Merchant or Edie Brickel. This outfit went into Elaine Benes territory right after I put on the blazer. Now I know Elaine would wear a blazer that was 2 sizes too large, but this is modern Elaine! This jacket was at one time in the shop and no one bought it for a long while, now I am very glad for that because I happened to wear it often.

On another note, I am loving the color coral so much lately, coral and rose. I also love how this 1990s dress has a distinctive 1930s flair, and I really do not like the whole 1970s does 1930s or 1980s does 1940s thing. I would just as soon wear the real thing. But this dress, well, I feel like it's pretty outside of looking a bit 1930s.

LOVE this whole outfit. I actually LOVED fashion in the 90s and I totally rocked the floral rayon-doc martins boot look SO SO many times in my
"day." Ah, now my thoughts are filled with fabulous memories of my 20s. Awesome!

once I came to work wearing a knee length dress with scuffed boots and my colleague said "oh so Alanis Morrisette today!"...I wanted to go home and get changed. Don't you love it when an unsold item really works in your own closet, great versatile blazer!

i really like 70s or 80s does 40s or 50s stuff. the prices are a little more budget friendly and i'm not scared that i'm going to ruin them when i wear them!

heh..temptation to shove you and scream 'get outta here!' This is adorable- I love how different decades we once thought impossibly unstylish (yes, even the 90s) have some inspiration for today!

I think you have found the prettiest dress produced during the 90s. Love it!
