oh zara...why, or why not, rather...

I discovered Zara via Duff of Jean Jean Vintage's blog post here and was instantly ready to let go of some serious clams on a whole smattering of pretty blouses only to find out I will not be spending some serious clams on any such thing. There isn't a Zara store near me and one cannot shop online at Zara. Whaaaaa? Crummy! So for now I'll have settle for window shopping until my trip to California in the summer. Woe is me, but I am guessing that my pocketbook thinks it's just as well.

I was going to say you can buy Zara online, and then I realized that its only available in the UK online (so far, they only launched it last year) Think of it as a blessing (for your wallet)

Zara clearance sales are my favorite. They always have so much stuff, you should plan your trip around their sale :P

If it makes you feel any better Lauren, we don't have a single Zara in Australia (we're a backwater, quite obviously). Thankfully we are getting one store, just one, in Australia due to open in August.

In the meanwhile I pick up my Zara items when I go to Hong Kong. It's a long way to go for some Zara...

I'm always so bummed that Zara doesn't have an online shop!

I spent last summer in London on study abroad. All I can say is Zara bewitched me. So much so, that it came down to choosing Zara, or food. Sometimes Zara won. Be thankful they're not close. You're safe from the siren song for now.

Woohoo! Something I actually have! I love that ruffly minty blouse.

I'm in love with this one I just found at Gap actually- may satisfy your cravings...

(oops- just realised it's out of stock in a lot of sizes- it's still available in Canada- I could source one for you if need be!)

All the more reason why the store is magical! We will have so much fun there together!

I discovered Zara when I lived in Egypt. I actually love their kids clothes styles. Now I am in CA and I am surprised that I find so many Zara items in my nearby thrift stores.

I am from the UK and know the sting that Zara can bring to the wallet... I live in Australia now and went back in December with dreams of shopping there... and erm guess what... nothing took my fancy. So frustratingly true!

There only used to be Zara in Spain, so when I would visit my cousins I'd shop there-- now that it's in S.F. it's sort of lost its magic for me-- point is, you are better off that way, now it'll be special when you do go there! I'm kind of hoping Asos and Topshop don't come here for the same reason!

Lauren - it's been a few years since I lived near you, but when I did the TJ Maxx/Marshall's every once in a great while had Zara pieces. Usually out of season, but their basics are pretty safe bets. Might be a shot in the dark, but there might be some lurking around!!
