Eatable rears it's head again

Andrea, at Miel et Cannelle gets me. She sent me this photo above because she though I'd like it and she is SPOT on. But I don't like it. I love it. I adore it. Wanna eat it. Her and I both love Eatable of Many Orders for it's super sacklike, monochromatic, dearchitecturalized architectural clothing. While the French gal above may not be wearing Eatable of Many Orders, she does evoke it in spades and not to mention bares an uncanny resemblance to my friend Beili. And I once again, am renewed and inspired by this interesting and unique clothing line. I have posted about it before, but since I am "feelin' it", I am posting some of their work again.

From Eatable of Many Orders website:

What is Eatable?

The phrase “Eatable of Many Orders” comes from Kenji Miyazawa’s “Restaurant of Many Orders”. It is a story about a wild cat restaurant which gives orders to customers rather than taking orders from them. Like the story, Eatable of Many Orders would like to provide customers an eatable menu for complete understanding of our products.
We would like to present our products like food and its ingredients with aesthetic sense and sensibility. The materials which we choose often have very interesting stories of their process. We would like to be a guide to introduce our products in a manner when you ask before you eat something, “what’s in it?”

So-so

My inclination is usually just to post really great outfits, or at least ones that I think are pretty great. But then that's not really being honest is it? So I thought today I would post a so-so outfit just because. The light isn't great because it's gloomy and rainy outside and I wasn't inspired to wear anything besides these pink jeans, which although this is a so-so oufit, I really love these jeans. I suppose they elevate a so-so outfit some.

textural cotton jacket - estate sale

shimmery pink thongs - JCrew
necklace - thrifted, sooooo many years ago, it's one of my favorites

Pretty is as Pretty Wears

Some images of lovely stylish ladies from Nast.

I love her paleness and pale clothes.

And to contrast, I love her olive skin. I also how relaxed everything about her looks, so unfussy.

I want this hair. Alas I must wait...oddly enough my hair in its natural state looks just like the gal above!

I just absolutely love her eyebrows!

And a shop update, all about The Pretty.

Fashion Reading

Off my Amazon wish list, these book should keep me busy for a while! I absolutely love the Lanvin cover and also the Dior cover. I think I'll buy them up, one at a time, beginning with Lanvin...

Barely clothes

I can't imagine why anyone would have gotten rid of this dress. It's my new favorite thing. I think silk is really my new favorite thing and this dress is so super soft, so super light and so way pretty, I am totally smitten! I love really light clothes, that feel like you aren't wearing any. This is just a tent dress that I have belted, if I took the belt off this would be a great nightie! It doesn't have any zippers or buttons, heck it COULD be a nightie!

A case of the Sundays

Today is beautiful, not just a little beautiful, but perfectly beautiful. And what made it even more beautiful is that I had zero plans for the day, something I always love. I woke up alone (as Mr. Dear Golden is on a biking trip) to the sound of birds outside my window, and instantly remembered the glee of having no responsibilities today! The weather is gorgeous and as of last night I made a promise to myself to eat breakfast everyday, and while I am not sure if I can keep that promise I did get off on the right foot this morning!

And then I just snapped some photos of the morning at my house, just some vignettes
of a summer Sunday morning at my house.

Essential for Sunday, easy clothes!

Essential for Sunday, breakfast!

Essentially essential, Ella.

New Obsession: Beaded Statement Necklace

It was Coco Chanel who advised women to remove one accessory before leaving the house and well, if you wear a statement necklace you needn't worry about wearing any other accessory at all. I have always loved "statement" necklaces, but lately I have been really loving them, which is great because I also reached a point this weekend where I realized I really do have way too many clothes and shoes and cannot buy anymore, but I CAN buy more jewelry! Much easier to make room for! I am currently on the hunt for a chunky vintage beaded necklace just like the pink one at the top, but in bright yellow or even a deep cobalt blue (so hard to find!). I am in a wedding this summer and am wearing a bright rhubarb pink dress and would love a giant vintage chunky yellow necklace to pair with it. I am combing Etsy and eBay for my perfect beaded statement necklace, and the hunt really is part of the fun! All three of the necklaces above are my own...

and these below are at Etsy.

Soften the edges

My favorite shop updates are the soft & pales ones and this one might be one of my favorites so far!
